VeloViewer Wrapped  – Grace Brown’s 2024 Infographic Story

To kick off the VeloViewer infographic season we caught up with Grace Brown, Australian road racer and World Champion. After an epic season which saw her win Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and the Olympic and World Championships time trial, we were keen to review her infographic which visualises her stats for the year.

Interpreting the data, the infographic highlights a yearly Eddington Score of 71, which shows Grace rode at least 71 miles on 71 days which is a great indicator of consistency.

The active day circle markers are also a great way of seeing the pattern of riding throughout the year. This usually highlights people’s commutes, weekend rides and holidays whereas in Grace’s case it identifies key events such as the Giro d’Italia Women, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, and periods of rest.

Here’s Grace’s take on her data and how this played out in reality.

What challenges did you face in the year and which stats from your VeloViewer infographic stand out to you?

Despite starting with a win at the Australian National Champs ITT the beginning of my year was very stop/start. I had some injuries, so was treading water with training for many months. From April I was able to hit my stride, and you can see from my training data that I was able to periodise some really hard training/racing blocks around my big targets and balance that with periods of rest. This approach allowed me to maintain form right up until my last race without becoming too fatigued.

What challenges have you set yourself 2025?

I’m now working out what it means to be a “normal” person without the luxury to ride my bike for hours every day. I need to learn what a healthy amount of exercise is and am having a bit of an identity crisis as I realise how unfit I’m becoming. But running is starting to sneak in, so it will be fun to see what my stats look like in a year’s time!
