VeloViewer sponsored the Active Travel Award at Sheffield’s Move More Award ceremony on Friday 28th March, where winner Chella Quint OBE was presented the accolade by South Yorkshire’s Active Travel Commissioner, and three time Olympic Champion, Ed Clancy.
The inaugural Trailblazer in Active Travel Award was presented to Chella, Founder of Period Positive, for her campaigning for better cycling support and infrastructure, in particular for disabled cyclists. Period Positive is a movement that challenges menstrual taboos through the arts.
As part of VeloViewer’s on-going commitment to supporting cycling and sport in the company’s home city, the team attended the event at the OEC to celebrate individuals and communities which promote sport, exercise, and physical activity across Sheffield.
“We were delighted that Chella Quint OBE won, and loved hearing about her activism to support disabled cyclists and improve infrastructure. As huge advocates of physical activity, we were delighted to support the first of the Move More Awards. It was inspiring to see the commitment from people to create a happier and healthier city. This will hopefully motivate others to be active to increase their physical wellbeing, whether this is on an individual basis or as an organisation.” Said Anna Lowe, VeloViewer Director.
