Our resident VeloViewer mountain bike rider Tony Lowe competed in the Andorra Epic MTB challenge in July. This bucket list race is part of the Epic Global MTB Series with two person teams competing over four stages with the stunning backdrop of the Andorran Pyrenees.
Tony and team mate Tom Moores took on 200km of trails with 6400 metres of climbing and 7600 metres of descent, completing the event in 11th position in their category.
“Having previously ridden in the Trans Madeira I had been looking for another mountain bike challenge, and the Andorra Epic more than ticked that box. Taking on the Pyrenees and conquering the tough ascents, with the challenge of great technical downhills and swooping forest singletrack was hugely rewarding. I’d highly recommend the event to anyone looking to up their MTB racing!” said Tony.
