VeloViewer WorldTour – Help Documentation

The VeloViewer WorldTour package was introduced in 2016 in collaboration with Team Sky as a platform to support a top-level professional cycling team with their season’s race routes to help with their tactics, safety and logistics.  The package was quickly adopted by many women’s and men’s teams spanning WorldTour, ProTour, Continental, Club, National as well as supporting riders and teams at events like RAAM.  The benefits of the package were also spotted by race organisers with AIOCC signing a contract for the 2025 season and beyond for all of it’s members. It is also used by other stakeholders like neutral service, TV motorbikes, UCI commissaires and SafeR analysts as well as by TV commentators to help them more effectively tell the story of the race to their viewers.

The VeloViewer WorldTour package is made up of two main areas:

  1. Race Hub:
    1. List of the organisation’s races for this and previous/future seasons.
    2. Detail view of each race/stage with the ability to add race/logistics/hazard waymarkers and view weather conditions.
    3. View the history of updates to each race.
    4. User administration.
    5. Race calendar administration.
  2. Live app:
    1. For use when on the race route to view the upcoming route, waymarkers and live weather.
    2. Can also be used on recons before the race or by safety vehicles ahead of the race. New waymarkers can be added during the recons or during the race to highlight unexpected hazards to all stakeholders.
    3. Live locations of all the organisation’s users can be shared and viewed.
